Welton Street Cafe Renovation

For 38 years, Welton Street Café has been a community cornerstone in Denver, serving Southern-style dishes and expanding multiple times, most recently to 2883 Welton Street in October 2021. Facing construction delays, the Dickerson family enlisted Gilmore Construction for free management and consulting to get back on track.

The café continued through pop-ups and catering despite challenges. Gilmore’s intervention included a thorough LiDAR scan and coordination with subcontractors and city officials, successfully completing the project by September 2024. The new space features a vibrant design with a mural of founder Mona Dickerson, a spacious layout with a central bar, a separate takeout area, and an outdoor patio.

Welton Street Café has remained a symbol of community spirit through various challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and economic shifts, with Gilmore’s support highlighting the impact of quality construction and local cooperation.
