Gilmore Construction Corporation this week was bestowed the 2014 Winners Circle award from Workforce Initiative Now, “a collaborative partnership between RTD, Community College of Denver, Denver Transit Partners (DTP) and the Urban League of Metropolitan Denver. WIN helps job seekers, companies, and local communities through the creation of career opportunities in the transportation and construction industries.”
“We have always had an internal WIN program because we’re a company that is built from the help of our surrounding community,” said Vince Gilmore, director of business development for Gilmore Construction Corporation, who accepted the award for the company. “Gilmore is truly a Denver-based company. Our leadership team is from the city.”
WIN employees have come through Gilmore to move on to bigger and better career opportunities — which is the program’s goal.
“Gilmore has become a great stepping stone for career development,” Vince Gilmore said
Fifteen percent of Gilmore’s workforce in 2013-14 was enrolled in the WIN program. Even when Gilmore cannot employ a person, we highly recommend that the person enroll in the WIN development initiative to make themselves more marketable.
