For more than a decade, Jake Gilmore has volunteered as an instructor for the Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists (CABPES) nonprofit program. As CABPES encourages underrepresented kids to explore and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers, one of Jake’s contributions is educating middle- and high-schoolers about careers in the construction industry.
Last month, 9News featured Jake and three of his students in a piece on getting kids involved in STEM and the opportunities available via the CABPES program. Check out the video and learn more about the CABPES program here!
